SparkSafe are pleased to confirm that 2020 electrical installation apprentices undertaking the approved industry framework, will be entitled to register for a no fee, Apprentice Electrician (AE) licence.  The measure is aimed at establishing an early sense of occupational identity and professionalism towards the trade and to assist apprentices with employability and progression opportunities.

We are keen to support the industry and the training provider network in their efforts to recruit and train the next generation of qualified electricians.

Entitlement to a no fee, AE licence will be approved based on evidence from the training provider and employer that the apprentice is completing the industry approved Level 3 Electrotechnical Electrical Installation Apprenticeship.

“Supporting the development of the local electrical contracting community, is at the centre of the SparkSafe mission.  On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to announce a full concession on the AE licence fee for all first-year apprentices entering the industry from September 2020.”
