We were honoured to be involved in the “Back to Safety Basics” NISG – Northern Ireland Safety Group Annual Conference on Thursday 7th November 2024 at La Mon Hotel. Our CEO Charlotte Bamber, delivered a session on how SparkSafe Electrical Licence to Practise can help clients and contractors reduce risk, enhance safety and protect lives.
The presentation highlighted the risks of using unqualified electrical workers on sites. Those in attendance were asked to give thoughtful consideration to the following questions –
❌ Could the appointment of contractors who rely on unqualified or underqualified electrical workers damage your organisation or personal reputation?
❌ Have you taken sufficient steps to defend your organisation or personal reputation in court for using unqualified electrical workers?
❌ Is the safety of your staff, customers or assets potentially at risk of shock, fire or electrocution because of a lack of rigor and scrutiny into the competency of those who carry out electrical work on your behalf?
Charlotte highlighted how SparkSafe can help remove the potential deadly blind spot that exists regarding who is actually carrying out electrical work on site. Time was taken to explain that the system has been designed to help busy Clients and Contractors increase control and reduce administrative effort, in the management and understanding of the workers who carry out electrical installation work on their projects.
It was great to connect with everyone, our team had lots of interesting conversations about electrical safety and standards at our exhibition stand. Lots of questions and engagement about how we can work together to help reduce risk, enhance safety and protect lives!
If you would like to find out more about the SparkSafe initiative please get in touch. We can come to you and demonstrate how the system works and the benefits for you, your team and your customers.
