Impact of COVID19 on Licence Renewals

We recognise that the number of expired electrical worker licences in the industry might increase as existing card holders are unable to renew their licence due to the current extraordinary conditions. Failure to possess a current, up to date licence, may hinder employability and lead to some electrical workers being turned away from site.

Licence Extension Notice

Maintaining licence continuity is an important step in securing employment and service opportunities on public sector construction and maintenance projects.

SparkSafe does not endorse unlicensed electrical workers carrying out work on public sector contracts. However, we recognise that difficulties, including the pause in construction activity associated with the present situation, may prevent some workers and employers from renewing expiring licences.

To alleviate such difficulties, and as an exceptional temporary measure, we are extending the expiry date of worker licences which fall between 1st March 2020 – 30th June 2020, for ninety days.

Keeping you informed

We will continue to monitor the response of Government in the management of COVID19 in the UK, and where necessary introduce further measures to assist electrical workers and the industry.

We appreciate your support during this time and ask you to visit www.sparksafeltp.co.uk for updates from SparkSafe. Please contact us at enquiries@sparksafeltp.co.uk or on 028 25 666837 with your enquiries.
